Dr. Damian Raess is Senior Researcher at the World Trade Institute, University of Bern. He earned his PhD in social sciences from the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on public and private approaches to protect labor standards through trade. He is the co-author of the Labor Provisions in Trade Agreements (LABPTA) dataset. In addition to his scholarly work, he has consulted for national governments and international organizations including the WB, the EFTA, the EU Parliament and the UK Parliament on the topic of the design and effectiveness of labor provisions in preferential trade agreements.
